Getting started

Are these real 11+ past papers?

No. Every question is original and written for Grammar School. Public papers are used only to understand question types and formats.

Which year group is it for?

Children preparing for the 11+, usually in Year 4, 5 or 6. Difficulty level 1 is standard 11+ and higher levels stretch beyond it.

Which exam boards is it for?

The questions follow the common types and styles used in 11+ tests, which are set by different providers and schools in different areas. Formats vary, so check your target schools' current guidance.

What subjects are covered?

Maths, verbal reasoning, English and non-verbal reasoning, plus a word bank. Creative writing is planned. The Practice page shows what is live.

Do I need an account?

Not to use the free sample. An account (sign-in by emailed link, no password) is needed to create players, save progress and unlock the full question bank.

Using the portal

What are Challenges, Practice and Reports?

Challenges are daily, weekly and monthly sets that earn coins. Practice lets you choose a subject and topic for a session of up to 50 questions. Reports show parents coverage, accuracy, time taken, strengths and focus areas.

How do coins and the leaderboard work?

Challenges earn coins, which you spend in the shop on characters, hats, outfits and backgrounds. Leaderboards rank coins earned and show only generated public names, which cannot be edited. A parent can hide a player from leaderboards.

How long is a practice session?

Up to 50 questions on one topic, easiest first. At the end you see your score and time, and we suggest moving on, reviewing mistakes or redoing the topic.

Can my child use it on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Sign in once on the device as the parent and choose a player. There is also a rough-working area for drawing with a finger, pencil or mouse.

Can questions be read aloud?

Yes. Use the Listen button on any question, and choose a voice and speed in the Accessibility menu. The quality of the voice depends on your device.

Where do I find grammar schools near me?

Use Find grammar schools in the footer. Search by postcode area, local authority or name, and add up to three schools to a player. Always check each school's own website for its test and entry rules.

Account, privacy and safety

How do I sign in?

Enter your email and we send a one-time link, valid for 15 minutes. There is no password. Type the code into the page, or open the link. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder or try again. For safety, you stay signed in until the end of the day (midnight UK time), so you sign in once each day.

What do you know about my child?

Almost nothing. Players are shown only by a generated public name such as Brave Maple Otter. We collect no real names from children, no free text and no photos. Optional details such as school year and exam year are visible only to you.

Is my child's progress saved?

Yes, for players. Results, times and challenge scores are saved to a report only you can see. You can delete a player and all their data at any time on the account page.

Can other children see my child?

Only a generated name and avatar on a leaderboard, to signed-in families, and you can hide a player from leaderboards. There is no chat or messaging.

Subscriptions and billing

What does it cost?

The free sample costs nothing. Subscription pricing will be announced when subscriptions open.

What does a subscription include?

The full question bank, and the weekly and monthly challenges.

Do you guarantee a place at a grammar school?

No, and nobody honestly can. Grammar School is practice material that helps children become familiar with question types and build confidence.

Mistakes and feedback

I think a question or answer is wrong. What should I do?

Thank you for telling us. Use the Report a problem link under the question, or the contact form below. Every question is checked by software and many are re-solved by a second program, but mistakes can still happen, and we correct them.

A word or question seems unsuitable for a child.

Please tell us using the contact form. We write all content to a neutral, child-friendly policy and take concerns seriously.

Contact us
